1st day of school

Today was the first day of school with my fresh batch of Kindergartners. It is going to be a fun year! (I am saying that NOT sarcastically) They are truely excited about learning and they catch on pretty fast. I got so many smiles today and not really any tears. They have some really fun personalities too. I definitly have to plan more to do for tomorrow, they are fast. Which for kindergarten is really fast. The best story for today was a little guy who told me "I know what a million plus a thousand is... one million one thousand, and 2 +2 is 4 and 10+10 is 20 and here is my name (and he gave me all the letters) and here is my families names because I am going to give this picture to them (the names were spelled correctly..) " wow.... no blank stares when I asked what is your name sweetheart... It's gonna be a good year. I must admit that having 4 fresh little babies come in with their afternoon kinder siblings did make me want to burst into tears and run home to my but baby it's gonna be OK. Most days I will be able to sneak out at lunch but today I had to keep the criers and wanderers in check. :0) I do want to crawl into bed right now and it's only Monday but the first day is always super exhausting because of all the nerves before the day starts. Here's to 179 more days of fun!!!

All before the "real" alarm went off at 5:00

Thomas got up and gave JT his pipie...
I got up to give it to him again and he was all wet...
changed his diaper, jammies and sheets...
fed him and put him back to sleep...
took a shower...
went to check on him...
changed his diaper, onesie and sheets again...
Then I heard my alarm go off. Good Grief. :0)

Tuesday already....

This weekend flew by, we didn't end up going to the wild animal park on Saturday because Jason and Robin invited us over to swim and BBQ for Jason's birthday in the evening, so we cleaned our windows instead in the morning, which really needed to be done since we hadn't really done them since the dirt storm. Sunday we went to church then went to the Dr.s for Jonathan's 4 month check. He weighs 14 lbs 10 oz and is 25 inches long. He did well with his shots but the nurse was surprised with how RED he turns when he is not happy. The tears only lasted a second though and after some tylenol at Grandma and Grandpa's house he crashed for a good nap. He is in the 50th percentile for both height and weight.... way to be average bubby! Yesterday he celebrated his 4 month birthday by going with me to Target and today we were brave and took the dogs to the groomers. Tomorrow I officially go to my classroom for work and meetings and the kinders come on Monday! Tonite our small group is comming over and we are gonna celebrate Thomas' birthday with his request of enchiladas and Fondue. Yummy!
Hanging out outside on Friday evening.
At the pool
Hanging out with Sammi.... she was SOOO excited to swim with Baby Jon...
4 months old. He gets more and more fun every month!! He did smile in between pictures, I think I need Thomas to help capture the dimps...

Whew... It's Friday....

We made it!! This was my first week back to work and it went better than I could have imagined. I guess all of that praying really did work :0). While the math training wasn't exactly the way that I wanted to spend a week of my summer vacation, it was nice to ease back to work a little slowly. I have Monday and Tuesday off and then prep/ meeting days the rest of the week and I get to meet my group of kindergarteners the following Monday. I can't wait to see what this school year has in store!
Jonathan has done amazing this week. I am so proud of my little bean!! The grandmas must be magic because he has been a much happier kid! He takes good long naps, he smiles and is happy for them, he takes his bottle as long as it is just the right temperature and if he doesn't he waits paitiently for me to rush in during my lunch break, he snuggles more and (drumroll please) he has slept through the night all week long!!!!! (I know that blogging about it will proably jinx it but I am so proud and excited I can't help it). So much for me trying to make a schedule for him, he decided to make his own that is much better! We go to the doctors on Sunday ( I know it doesn't make sense but that's what happens when there is like only one pediatrician in Beaumont/ Banning) so we will find out how much he has grown officially. We don't know what we're doing yet this weekend but if it isn't too hot we might head out to the wild animal park.... who knows?!

Last weekend of summer...

Yesterday was my first day back at work... the wonderful "math traning". Here are some pics from our last weekend of summer in Havasu. Kathy and Kasandra came down from Utah to deliver our furniture which we assembled most of (one of the reasons it was so cheap) in the "sweatshop" AKA the garage.
Jet skiing... Kathy rented this one for a few days.
The BEST boat driver Pete!
Jonathan and Miss Judy.
Smiles for Grandma.
I got up on the Air Chair!!!!!! Miracles do happen. I was terrified and screamed the whole tim but it was soooo fun (I must say I was SORE yesterday)
Kasandra and her friend she brought along.
First time Auntie Kasandra held Jonathan (she has a cast from breaking her hand and was afraid of holding him awake in case she scratched him so he was fast asleep)
Thanks for the sunglasses Breven!!

Sleeping in the kitchen because we got the carpets cleaned and had the windows open (in 110 degree weather with the air on) to help things dry faster. The kitchen was the coolest place.
Thomas doing some repairs on the bathroom ceiling
Celebrating our 5 year anniversary at Barley Brothers. I got 2 beers.... you read that right.... I ordered beer! $1.00 sample sizes are perfect for me! It was our first time out the two of us with out the bean. We had a great tme at dinner, thanks for babysitting Grandma!!
Hanging out..
Early in the morning (when out neighbor came over to introduce himself, I am still in PJs and he had to talk to us about the tree in front, too big for his liking and that it was great that we went to a church back home but the baptist church there would be better... funny old man ;0) )
Good times... good times....

One from the Boys!

Hi All,

Everyone knows that Leighann does most of the blogging in our house! This one comes from Jonathan and Thomas. In honor of the start of the football season, Jonathan is wearing his Chargers PJs. We just wanted to say....

GO CHARGERS!!!

I need to vent before I scream and wake up Jonathan...

I HATE INSURANCE COMPANIES.... it represents all that is wasteful, ridiculous and wrong.... so a few weeks ago I got a notice in the mail saying that the claim for Jonathan's immunizations was denied. huh? I said to myself I thought he was covered. So I called the insurance company after waiting on hold (blah blah blah) I find out that he is covered Beaver just put down the wrong number ( I ask the "lovely" lady on the phone to make the change, but no she tells me that would be illegal) I ask her "what do I need to do now" she told me to call the doctor. Well momma called the doctor and the doctor said call claims, so momma called claims and claims said call billing, so momma called billing and billing said we will call you back. Surprise surprise they never did. SO I gave them a few days and I called again, they said they have not recieved the denial from the insurance company and I just need to wait for THEM to send me a bill that I will then call them again about (saying I won't pay it) and then they will resubmit the claim to the insurance company with the correct number that does not tell insurance that Jonathan had strep throat but rather immunizations. Are you kidding me?!?!? this is such a waste of time (and money since I am sure the lovely people who answer phone calls like this all day long get paid) for ALL of us. Besides all this it just irritates me to know how much is being charged for three little shots.
Oh well I guess it could be worse. I just don't want to waste anymore time on hold! Thanks for letting me vent! I feel much better!

Bad Habits?

I can't believe that this is my last week of vacation. Next week Monday it is back to work again. I am not quite sure how I feel about all of it. I am way excited to go back but of course I have my worries too. I just have to remember that God is in control and he has a plan for everything... I just need to go with the answers that He has given (don't we all need to remember that?!?!) and to not worry about tomorrow but enjoy each day. This week I am going to try to keep Jonathan to the working schedule the best that I can while still getting all the things done that I need to get done (like finding some more capris that will fit me, boo). We had been adjusting to it well but last week I just wanted to fully enjoy being home with him.... so we had a bad habit together... we took lots of naps ... on my bed. I just loved to watch his little face when I put him down on the pillow top, he zonked right out with out much of a struggle. Since I realize that the Grandmas will not necessarily want to nap with him everyday so he needs to nap in his crib, so that's where he is now.
I know he looks like a little prisoner of war but that is actually how he likes to sleep with a burp cloth on his head. The blanket thing on his chest is his little "lovie" that he hugs as he is falling asleep. He actually went down without much of a struggle this morning, what a good little bean! Now just sleep through the night again... every night... I know you can do it!

Hockey Game

Last night Thomas had another Hockey game, it was an earlier game so Jonathan and I went to watch. His team (which has basically been in last place or close to it) beat the #1 undefeated team last night. I must say the defense did really well (hmmm maybe that is because he was the goalie :0) ) ! Good job boys! ( I guess they are not really boys anymore.... I think Thomas and Jason are by far the youngest guys on the team )
